Mission of FCA Athletics

The mission of Freedom Classical Athletics is to support students-athletes in the achievement of the school motto, "knowledge- freedom- leadership" through sports. This is done with the help of strong coaches who have the drive and willingness to be there for their athletes as well as a support system of teachers, families, and administration who encourage our athletes to step into their leadership roles.

Basic Information

Freedom, along with 52 other charter and private schools, participates in the Nevada Charter School Athletic Associate (NCSAA). We compete in the Fall, Winter, and Spring season offering a variety of opportunities for K-8 students to develop and showcase their talents.

Freedom offers two types of teams: Recreational and Competitive/Varsity

  • Recreational is offered to our K-2/3 students and is meant for development and learning game play. Players can expect about equal playing time at this level.

  • Competitive/Varsity sports is for the older players and is geared toward development with the intent to win games. Players are tasked with greater challenges and more responsibility. Equal play time is not a guarantee and instead game time is based on coaching strategy. Players must attend tryouts in order to be placed on one of these teams.

The cost for a player to participate on a team, regardless of sport or team, is $180. (Cheer is a separate cost.)

The $180 expense pays our league fees, coach stipend, facility cost, and includes the player uniform (top and bottom) that player will get to keep. Due to inflation this cost barley covers our expenses, but we have chosen to keep the fee $180 in order to make sports affordable for our families.

Athlete Registration

In order for students to participate in athletics at Freedom Classical parents/guardians MUST fill out the Pre-Registration form.        (New for the 2024/2025 school year!) Students will not be able to attend any clinics, intramural, tryout, or be rostered on a team unless the Pre-Registration form is complete. The Valley Health System is offering Sports Physicals for $50. For more information see their flyer here: Sports Physicals
